Patsy Smith is a successful member of the National Watercolor Society. Her work has been shown in a variety of galleries and she has won numerous awards in the region. Patsy’s paintings are included in private collections all across the country as well as being in seven museum shows. She also teaches watercolor workshops in the surrounding area as well as at Patsy Smith Art Studio, near Brady, Nebraska. Her compositions consist of three paintings in one: the first painting defines space, the second produces the textures, and the third commits the message.
With all of her esteemed accomplishments, Patsy is well-known in the region. She is a member of Impact, a non-profit Nebraska visual arts organization and a juried group of nationally recognized artists living in Nebraska. She is also very active in Creative Unlimited Arts Council (CUAC) of North Platte. Her favorite place to be, though, is at her studio on Jeffery Lake near Brady, Nebraska. There she is inspired to create the dynamic artwork she is so recognized for. Her husband Larry and her are a powerful team, as he helps her with matting and framing as well as being Patsy’s biggest supporter.
In this video, Patsy Smith is interviewed by Brad Anderson of Pure Nebraska, highlighting how Impact Artists are showing their interpretations of the Lewis and Clark expedition at the Prairie Arts Center in North Platte.
